My university had an unusually high rate of students who commuted, which meant that on any day there were crowds of students hanging around waiting for their next class to begin. For anyone that knows the struggle of having to wait hours between your classes, you know sitting and watching Netflix can grow old after […]
This August marks three years since I uprooted my life, moved to the East Coast, with nothing more than a few hundred dollars and an acceptance letter into grad school. I don’t know how I did it, but within two months I managed to start my graduate program, find two jobs and start building a […]
Five years have passed since I last sat down for Thanksgiving dinner with my family. Even though the holiday was never that big of a deal in my home, it’s one of those days where everyone expects you to travel back to where you’re from and spend the day with relatives. The only problem? I […]
Here’s the thing. I spent the last year of my life working my butt off for this moment, which is why I’m a little frustrated by the fact that I feel like a complete and utter failure. When I first moved to Washington DC, or should I say Maryland because I was way too broke […]
Three years ago I moved to a city where I knew no one. For the next year and a half, my social circle consisted of my boyfriend at the time and my college friend who would occasionally visit from out of town. My initial plan was to form friendships with my roommates, what I hadn’t […]
Does anyone else enter a three day weekend super excited for all the possibilities that an extra day can bring? Then wham! You realize that extra day or not, you rather sit on the couch and use all that time to scroll on your phone and catch up on your shows. Three day weekends come […]
Facebook was like a party that I heard about really late. Like, I was walking on the street and picked up a flyer off the floor with a date from last weekend late. I remember I signed up for an account right before I started my freshmen year of college, friend requested everyone I had […]
Most people think of college graduation, getting married and having children as adult milestones. While those totally count, I think the process of renting your own apartment is definitely downplayed in the world of being a successful grownup. Think about it, we make fun of people who live at home past the acceptable age but […]
I’ve never written a monthly goals post for many reasons. Mainly because I am convinced no one is interested in my desire to get my life in order, but also because I don’t really make monthly goals. I’m much more of a daily to do list kind of gal. With life throwing something new at […]
Sometimes I like to think I’m a special case, that for some reason I’m alone in feeling how I do much of the time. Then I snap out of it and realize there’s no way that’s possible, because aren’t we all a bunch of millennials trying to figure out or next step and who’s going […]
I am a die hard Halloween lover, to the point that currently there are two pumpkins a few feet away from my Christmas tree. Also, I’m lazy. While November is a time to mourn over the fact we have to wait a whole year to dress up again, by the time December arrives I’m pumped […]
Beginning November 1st I start the process of mourning the passing of my favorite time of the year, consoling myself with the only thing I have, candy I bought at 70% off retail price. Halloween time has always been my favorite season, with the fun not being limited to one day in my life. As […]
For the twenty three years I’ve been on this earth I’ve dated for ten. That’s a decade of first kisses, running to pick up my landline before my mom had the chance and falling out of love with boys who I once would have split a pizza with. I started dating when I was thirteen […]
With two years out of college, I’m starting to forget the stress that comes with having four exams all in one week. Thankfully Facebook time hop likes to remind me of all the whiny posts I use to write back before I knew how much trickier adulthood would turn out to be. If you’re struggling […]
